At Simply Hygiene with Sherri, we understand that there are multiple barriers that might prevent you from getting your teeth checked by a professional, such as dental phobia, financial issues and time constraints.

Our clinic was established to ease these burdens. There are no high-pressure sales of treatments or products at Simply Hygiene with Sherri. Instead, we develop the best plan that works for your budget and schedule. Our services include cleaning, tooth polishing, fluoride treatments, and more.

For clients who feel anxious about dental procedures, our professional and friendly staff will make sure your treatment is as comfortable and stress-free as possible. Aside from that, we can offer referrals to local dentists and medical health professionals for diagnosis and further treatment if necessary.

Myofunctional Therapy

DID YOU KNOW??
That mouthbreathing, snoring and tooth crowding are NOT “normal”. Improper tongue and mouth function can result in functional disorders.

Orofacial Myofunctional Therapy is an exercise-based therapy that involves training the muscles of the face, mouth, tongue and throat to correct functional disorders including mouthbreathing, poor tongue posture, improper chewing and swallowing and speech disorders. Orofacial myofunctional disorders often go unrecognized in both children and adults.

What Things can Myofunctional Therapy Help with?

  • Improve Breathing During Sleep by strengthening muscles that support the airway resulting in less to no snoring.
  • TMJ Pain and Dysfunction by improving function of muscles to work together the way they should rather than against each other.
  • Speech & Swallowing Issues by improving muscle coordination for clearer speech and efficient swallowing. ( Alongside a Speech Language Pathologist)
  • Malocclusion (poor bite)- works alongside orthodontic treatment to correct problematic bite and improve oral posture. As well as prevent relapse.
  • Feeding Problems by increasing muscle function to aid in proper chewing (stop messy eating) and prevent reattachment of lip and/or tongue ties.
  • Parafunctional Habit such as thumbsucking, nail biting and tongue thrust.
